Process

The new build process is a complex and carefully coordinated operation. ICE Yacht Project Managers work closely with a dedicated team of professionals – including naval architects and crew members – to ensure every aspect of construction aligns with the Owner’s specifications and expectations.

The majority of superyachts are financed through specialised marine mortgages or loans. ICE Yacht works closely with the Owner and their chosen financial institution, providing all necessary documentation and support to facilitate financing. Once construction begins, our Project Management team coordinates directly with the Owner’s representatives to manage the payment schedule, ensuring smooth financial operations throughout the build until final delivery.

Constructing a new yacht is a highly technical process, encompassing everything from initial planning and engineering to outfitting, testing and delivery. ICE Yacht Project Managers are actively involved at every stage, ensuring both technical and legal feasibility from the design phase through to completion.

ICE Yacht are responsible for ensuring the vessel is built to the required standards and complies with all applicable regulations. New yachts require meticulous compliance to ensure safety, operational integrity, and adherence to various international codes and standards. From stability analysis and fire safety to lifesaving equipment and environmental regulations, our Project Managers coordinate with classification societies and flag authorities to arrange inspections and surveys throughout the build – guaranteeing full regulatory compliance at every stage.

The crew required during a new build differ to those needed during vessel operation. Senior crew members such as the Captain, Chief Engineer, Chief Officer, and Head of Interior all play crucial roles in managing the new build project. Working closely with the Project Management team, the crew is involved in a wide range of activities including inspections, designer meetings, managing owners’ supplies, budgeting and purchasing.
